Date Night: Smokey Metallic Makeup

Date Night Makeup

Saraktash I love date nights. Not only because I can indulge in desserts and champagne guilt-free (calories don’t count on date night), but because being “extra” is strongly encouraged. I’m ditching the usual big hair and red lip for something with a little more drama. Smokey, metallic makeup! Dust off that dress you’ve reserved for a special occasion and set the mood with some soft jazz as you apply your face. Read on for details…

Smokey Metallic Eyes

Metallic eyes look better when worn-in. Especially on date night. From the inner start point of your crease to the outer corner dragging gently outwards and a little downwards for a Cleopatra effect. I love the Laura Mercier Caviar eye stick in the shade smoke because it glides on and doesn’t move. Blend it minimally and set it with the darkest shade in the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad, Titanium Smoke.

Use a metallic eyeshadow over it to add intensity. My metallic shadow is by Urban Decay. Add some glitter in the inner corner of the eyes for even more shine. I mixed the glitter from the Tom Ford shadow palette with a Chanel one. Use a dark eye pencil in the waterline for added drama. It’s okay if the pencil migrates under the eyes—that’s the look! Smoky eyes get better the longer you wear it. The makeup settles and looks mesmerizing worn-in.  I added two coats of mascara top and bottom. L’Oreal Voluminous mascara never fails.

Lip & Cheek

Keep the cheeks neutral by skipping blush altogether. Yes, sometimes I skip blush and go straight to a bronzer and highlighter. I used a deeper shade of a bronzer to contour and a softer shade of bronzer to give an all over glow. I love Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzing Powder and Sisley Paris Phyto-Touche Sun Glow Bronzing Gel-Powder. I have been using both of these for a while now.

Don’t forget to highlight! I’m currently loving the Tom Ford Sheer Highlighting Duo in Reflects Gilt. The goal is to keep the smokey metallic eyes as the center attraction so my lipstick is also neutral. I chose a creamy nude by Oribe and I love the texture- it has a shine to it so you don’t need to apply any gloss. For more lip definition I lined mine with a nude pencil.
