Regal Makeup Look

Regal Makeup Look

There are moments when looking glamorous is not an option- it’s completely necessary. When the event calls for it I  pull out the glamour card and opt for a Regal Makeup Look. Just remember when you are envisioning your regal makeup look pick a favorite feature (or two) that you love and go for it. Meaning, get a little “extra.” I chose my eyes, they are an almond shape so I like to play them up by accentuating the shape. A winged liner and lots and lots of mascara. I make sure to add a soft highlight on my cheekbones (as well as my shoulders) to make both standout. For more Regal Beauty continue reading…

The Eyes

If I’m wearing a dramatic winged eye, I like to also play up my lashes. I always say that not all liquid liners are created equal especially one that is long lasting, highly pigmented and gives that sharp winged effect. Currently I’m using Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in Black. I apply my liner starting at the outer corner and drawing the perfect “flick.” Then, I move on to the inner corner, drawing a thin line along my lashes until I meet the outside wing.  You can go over your liner and thicken it up gradually as you make your way outwards to the wing. Make sure you are also lining as close to the lash line as possible.

Using the Ardell Knot Free Combo individual lashes in black- I start by adding the medium lengths on the outer corner of my eyes and the small length lashes in the center for a gradual effect.  I used the Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Nude Dip. For my lids, the top right nude shade. The bottom right earthy tone shade on my crease and I extended it out following the shape of the winged liner. The top left champagne color for my brow bone. On the corners of the eyes I added a little more depth by using the darkest shade in the Seductive Rose Palette also by Tom Ford. Add two coats of mascara to the top lashes and one coat on the bottom. You can’t go wrong with L’Oreal Luminous Mascara. Did I mention that it’s under $10? Bonus!

Lips & Cheeks

Since I’m playing up my eyes I’ll keep my lips more neutral. My signature nude? If you guessed Tom Ford Spanish Pink then you are right! I like the creamy, ultra-luxe texture and the subtle pink is perfect for my skin tone. For a Regal Makeup Look I wanted my makeup to look more polished and precise than usual so I decided my lips needed some definition. I line them with Stila Stay All Day Lipliner in Pink Moscato before adding two coats of lipstick. Don’t forget to blot.

Normally I don’t wear a highlighter, but since I’m going to an ultra glamorous look I’ll play up my cheekbones too. They are high and standout on their own so adding a little highlighter by Jouer in Citrine makes them pop even more. I add some on my shoulders as well. As for contour a little goes a long way for me. I lightly dust NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna in the hollows of my cheekbones. On the apples of my cheeks I choose a pink color by Tom Ford called Wicked.

Complexion & Brows

If you can only splurge on one item, make it skincare. I used the Sisley-Paris Black Rose Skin Infusion Face Cream to prep my skin. It looks so much plumper and radiant after massaging onto the skin. Afterwards I add a thin layer of the oil free primer by Laura Mercier, but only on my t-zone because that’s where I tend to get oily the most.

Next step I use only half a pump of Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation in shade 143 and buff into my skin making sure I get my neck area as well. One of the most important steps for me is the concealer under the eyes. To me this can really make or break a makeup look taking it from dull to regal. I have been using Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Honey to help camouflage some of the blue I have under my eyes and it warms up my that area. To brighten them, I apply the Ocher shade also by Clé de Peau Beauté.

I’ve always been into a bold brow. The fuller the better! Part of this Regal Makeup Look is having a polished brow. For my brow game-so-strong I used Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Brow Pencil Easy Shape & Fill in shade 3. I only filled in the areas that I am growing out so it looks more fuller. To keep the hairs in place I brushed the Glossier Brow Boy Clear Gel on my brow.

Forgot to say, I also use the Stila eyeliner, in black and brown in fact, and it’s my favorite. You is right boo; not all liquid eyeliners are created equal. I love the control I have over my winged eyeliner. It’s made so well. Xo

    • Kira Nasrat says:

I agree! I’m also so picky with liquid liners and this one seems to be my current favorite! As for gel liner, that’s a whole other blog post haha Happy Wednesday love xo

  • Yelda says:

Kira, I love this look on you. One of my favorites. I have Tom Ford Spanish Pink, but pairing it with Still Moscato Pink gives it a truer baby pink hue. So I’m going to give that a try. As always, thanks for the best beauty tips.

    • Kira Nasrat says:

Hi Yelda! Thanks gorgeous, you’re sooo welcome 🙂 Spanish Pink is a staple in my personal and artist kit! I can’t even start to think about how many I’ve gone through in the last years. If I want a more 90’s vibe I pair it with Spice lipliner by MAC. Let me know when you try it, I would love to see it on you! xx

I love putting a chocolate brown all over the lid, and diffusing it, with some black liner pushed into the lash line and tones of mascara. Then I just add a subtle lip colour and some highlight! Could you maybe do a video tutorial on this look?
