Falling for florals…
Florals for spring and summer hardly seem groundbreaking, so I take my flowery patterns with an autumnal twist. Nothing is more frustrating than buying summery pieces and wearing them once, maybe twice before the season’s end. What you want are prints with year-round appeal. When I spotted this floral, maroon number in Paris at ba&sh boutique, I knew right away that it would become a transitional weather staple in my closet. It’s completely my style! Not only does the timeless silhouette complement my figure, adding a wine-stained lip is all it takes to pivot this dress from piña colada to pumpkin-spiced latte. I’ve included some floral dresses in the blog post (including the one I’m wearing of course) that I think will have you falling for florals too!
The subtle sexiness of this maroon floral dress is what gets me: the wrapped neckline and ruched sleeves are incredibly flattering and somewhat modest, while the front slit adds some va va voom. It’s the perfect way to show some skin on sunny Summer or Fall afternoons in Los Angeles. I try and avoid heavy tropical prints. Don’t get me wrong, I own a dress or two with Palm tree prints, but I don’t consider them staples. This maroon floral dress by ba&sh is an absolute classic!
Trends come and go, but handbags are forever – that’s my philosophy. Invest now and wear them for years to come. I love this Chloé Nile bag because it feels more like a bracelet than a purse thanks to the gorgeous handle. And don’t let its size fool you – it fits all of the essentials!
If you can only splurge on one item, make it your shoes. Comfortable footwear is king and this style is giving me serious Spice Girl vibes. I snagged these Chloé platforms on sale in Paris, but here are some similar ones you can get your hands on.
These Céline sunnies appear regularly on the Currently Kira blog, but I just can’t get enough of them. I’m really into the gradual tint and the way they go well with the shape of my face. I find these flattering on most people. When you love something, wear it constantly, right? I suppose I’m not only falling for florals, but fell in love with these shades.
On my lips is By Terry’s Flower Attitude. I think the name says it all! I wear this pinky-wine color a lot because it the 3-in-1 formula is so versatile: precise enough to line my lips, moisturizes like a balm and doesn’t sacrifice any of the color payoff. Like my Celine sunglasses I find this shade super flattering on most skin tones.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment in the comment box down below and tell me what transitional pieces your taking from Summer into Fall!
